That’s where you come in.
A fintech development team is looking for support in stabilising and improving their backend platform. While the core team focuses on strategic initiatives, your role will be to reduce technical debt, improve code quality, and ensure the platform remains reliable and maintainable.
The assignment runs for 6 months, with a hybrid setup (2 days/week in the office). It’s a hands-on engineering role with a clear focus: take ownership of the backend and give the team breathing room.
What you’ll do
- Refactor and stabilise existing backend components (Node.js / TypeScript and Python)
- Contribute to architectural decisions and implementation of new features when needed
- Improve code quality through testing (unit, integration, E2E) and best practices
- Handle light frontend work when needed to support the team
- Operate the backend as part of the team’s on-call rotation
- Work closely with engineers, PO, UX, data analysts and other disciplines
Your expertise
- TypeScript / Node.js and Python in production environments
- AWS services such as Lambda, Step Functions, DynamoDB
- Serverless architectures and cloud-native development
- Designing, building and maintaining REST APIs
- Writing clean, maintainable code with proper test coverage
- Working in cross-functional teams with a pragmatic, collaborative approach
Soft skills matter here too: ownership, communication, and the ability to balance quality with realistic delivery are all important in this role.

- €5500 – €6500 monthly salary
